September 1975 Established the Processed Products Division, the predecessor of ZEON KASEI, at Zeon Corporation. Zeon Kosan Co., Ltd. started its trading business. October 1981 The Processed Product Division, Zeon Corporation, became independent to start business as Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. Head office: Tokyo November 1988 The business of Zeon Kosan was transferred to the company. November 1989 Provided powder slush compound technology to ATOCHEM in France. August 1991 Established Yamaguchi Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. November 1991 Ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the foundation. October 1992 Provided powder slush compound technology to PLAST-O-MERIC in the U.S.A. June 1994 Acquired all shares of Yamamu Kasei Co., Ltd. July 1994 Transferred the business of the Civil Engineering Material business to Zeon Corporation. Along with this transfer, ZEON KASEI partially consolidated or liquidated its branch offices. September 1994 Moved the head office to Shiba-Koen from Hatchobori. September 1997 Completed construction of a new compound plant at Ibaraki Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. March 1999 The Trading Division became independent to begin business as Zeon Trading Co., Ltd. July 2000 Zeon Trading Co., Ltd. merged into Tokyo Zairyo Co., Ltd. January 2001 Asahi Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. merged into Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. October 2001 Ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the foundation. October 2002 Iwai Plant merged into Ibaraki Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. July 2003 Established Zeon Logistical Materials Co., Ltd. July 2004 Head office and Kawasaki Research Laboratory obtained ISO 14001 certification. April 2005 Established the Ibaraki Plant, ZEON KASEI, in Ibaraki. May 2007 Head office, Ibaraki Plant, and Zeon Corporation’s Manufactured Product Development Laboratory obtained ISO 9001 certification. July 2009 Merged with Zeon Logistical Materials merged into Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. April 2011 The Vinyl Chloride Resin Compound business was transferred to RIKEN TECHNOS Corp. April 2011 Established Zeon Kasei (Changshu) Co., Ltd. December 2013 Zeon Kasei (Changshu) Co., Ltd. started operation of its second production line. July 2015 Established Zeon Kasei Mexico S.A. The corporate name “Zeon” is a compound of two Greek words: “Geo,” which refers to the “Earth,” and “eon,” which refers to “eternity.” It represents “Eternal Prosperity with Materials Supplied by the Earth.” As shown in the company name, which means new value creation through compounding, ZEON KASEI hopes to meet needs of the times, livelihood, and people through cooperation and coexistence as a member of the Zeon Group headed by Zeon Corporation.
